VP Alupo offers full study scholarship for boy seen doing homework using solar street lights

The Vice President Major Jessica Alupo Epel who is also the Katakwi District Woman Member of Parliament has offered a full education scholarship to  Otengei Emmanuel a Primary four pupil of Township Primary School- Katakwi.

Otengei was pictured reading by the road at night under streetlights on the streets of Katakwi Town council.

The Vice President, who spent the Easter weekend in her constituency, sent out emissaries who looked for the young Otengei and met him in Katakwi Town Council on Easter Monday morning. 

Otengei who hails from Ajeluk cell, Katakwi Town council in Ngariam County, told the Vice President that he would like to become an electrical Engineer in future. 

In order to keep young Otengei dreams alive, the Vice President announced to the family of Otengei that she will offer a full scholarship for his Primary education through Secondary education up to University, saying that she was inspired by his zeal and commitment.

The Vice President also extended appreciation to the person, yet to be identified, who took Otengei’s picture and commend him/her for the positive use of the power of citizen journalism.
