UNHCR, EU Delegation in Uganda to Assess the Situation of Refugees

KAMPALA
The European Union (EU) and United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) delegation is in Uganda to assess the situation of the Refugees in Uganda for an all-inclusive sustainable development.
The delegation is led by the Deputy Director General of EU Myriam Ferran and the UNHCR Assistant High Commissioner for Operations Raout Mazou.
Uganda is the biggest Refugee host country in Africa with over 1.5m refugees from across the great Lakes Region.
While meeting the Prime Minister of Uganda Rt. Hon Nabbanja Robinah at her office in Kampala Ferran says that European Union appreciates Uganda’s open door policy to hosting Refugees.
The Premier who expressed concern over the dwindling support to refugees asked the delegation to continue supporting Uganda in its quest to host Refugees.
The meeting was attended by the 2nd deputy Prime Minister, a cross of Ministers and other senior government officials.
