Two Chinese arrested for aiding fuel siphoning in Kihihi

The Police in Kihihi Town in Kanungu District have in their custody 2 Chinese working with China Henan International Cooperation Group Ltd (CHICO), a company constructing Rukungiri-Kanungu road after arresting them for allegedly conniving with suspected fuel thieves.

The two in detention whose names were not disclosed are, the Site manager and the supervisor who were found seated nearby their trucks while boda cyclist was siphoning fuel from the truck.

The Kanungu Deputy Resident District Commissioner Gad Ahimbisibwe Rugaju said that he found one Boda Boda siphoning fuel in jerrycan from one of the truck as the Chinese were looking on.

Rugaju said that when the suspected thieves saw him they took off and left their motorcycle and pipes which they were using and a jerrycan of fuel which were taken to the Police as exhibit.

The RDC said that while they were siphoning fuel from the truck the two Chinese were watching on indicating that that they were conniving with the suspects to steal the fuel.

The two Chinese are currently being held in custody at Kihihi Police station to make a statement.
