Police in Kitagwenda District are investigating circumstances under which a section of residents from Nyabihoko Parish in Buhanda Sub County killed a man whose identity is still scanty accusing him for allegedly murdering two people.
According to residents, the first murderer encountered a 66 year old woman identified as Kedonia Kafute, a resident of Nyabugando cell, in Nyabihoko parish going to her garden before he hit him with a hoe thus dying on spot.
In this gruesome murder, the yet to be identified killer proceeded on and killed another man 55 Gideon Akankwatsa still using a hoe. However, residents engulfed him and killed him on spot.
A team of detectives led by Henry Mugarura, the District Police Commander who rushed yesterday (Tuesday) to the scene condemned the act. He however attributed it to the increasing drug abuse in the area.
The Kitagwenda Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Lillian Ruteraho has warned the public against taking laws into their hands. This she says frustrates investigations by security personnel.
By press time, the bodies of the deceased had been taken to Ntara HC4 mortuary for postmortem.
