Shock and grief have engulfed residents of Kisiita Sub County in Kakumiro district after a 24year old man hacked his biological father to death over mangoes.

The murder incident occurred last evening at around 06pm in Buhonda village Buhonda parish Kisiita Sub County.

The suspect has been identified as Mutia Mudoogo whereas the deceased is David Ngumbi aka Mukamba aged 84years.

It’s alleged that troubles resulted from mangoes the deceased had given to neighboring children but the suspect refused which caused an argument and ended up chopping the father to death.

In an interview with our reporter, Kedress MukamaAdyiija the wife to the deceased narrated that she was away from home by the time her son killed the father. She adds that the suspect had a mental problem.

However, speaking to to this website, Susan Ndugu the daughter to the deceased dismissed the allegations connecting the cause of the murder to mental illness of the suspect noting that her step mum and the children have always harassed them and the father.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Nayebale, the area chairperson LCI explained that the suspect had once cut his father, noting that the family has always had disagreements over land issues.

He condemned that act thus asking youth to become responsible and respect their parents.

By press time, police had already reached the scene, whereas the suspect was at large.
