Grief and shock have engulfed residents of Kasoga LC1 in Kasoga parish Muhooro sub county Kagadi district after a woman in her 30s was stabbed by unknown assailants and later succumbed to excessive bleeding.
The deceased has been identified as Annet Ensinikweri a resident of Ibanda LC1 also in Muhorro sub-county.
Speaking to our reporter while at the scene Judith Tumwekwase the area L.C.1 chairperson Ibanda village said the incident happened on Sunday night when the deceased was hacked and left in critical conditions while on her way with other two colleagues heading to the nearby trading Centre.
Tumwekwase said that the deceased was rushed to a nearby clinic for treatment but unfortunately was pronounced dead today morning.
Gerald Mwesige aka “pawaso” who witnessed the incident said the assailant came from the nearby bush and attacked the deceased chopped her with a pang on the leg before she fainted in a pool of blood and later the attacker freed the scene.
Residents have eulogized the deceased as a good resident who did not have any grudge with residents.
They said they were shocked to learn about the incident.
By press time our efforts to get a comment from police were futile as police detectives were still busy gathering evidence relating to the murder.
