NTUNGAMO
Residents in Kishenga village, Katungamo parish in Rugarama sub county, Rushenyi County in Ntungamo district were on Monday morning shocked after a black coffin was found abandoned in the toilet of John Karenzi, a resident of the same address.
It is alleged that this baby coffin size contained Ugx 100, 200, 500 and 1000 coins, small crosses, scarecrow made of banana fibers and fur of small animals.
Shinan Kacuucu Natuhurira, the councilor representing people with disabilities (PWDs) who also doubles as the speaker for Rugarama Sub County said that he witnessed the abandoned black coffin inside the toilet of John Karenzi.
Natuhurira noted that he had some residents at the scene and asked Karenzi if he could predict who could have done so in his home, but he couldn’t relate to any.
The councilor had resolved to throw away the coffin but was advised to first wait for a prayerful person at the scene there after looking for the way forward.
By around 4:00 pm, the coffin was still at the premises of John Karenzi waiting for the prayerful people.
Our reporter spoke to the officer in charge of Rubaare police station Ilim Muzoora who confided to us that he wasn’t aware of the incident by press time.
