The Kagadi district Secondary schools have today held a one day seminar that was organized to equip learners with skills of learning, writing and speaking Kiswahili language.
The seminar was held at Mabale SS in Mabale Town Council, Kagadi district.
Godfrey Musinguzi, the headteacher Mabale SS which hosted the event says there is need for all schools to start teaching Kiswahili language as it has become a compulsory subject and a national language.
He has condemned schools that have shunned the seminar without clear reasons.
Godfrey has further asked students to double their efforts in education to live better future lives.
Happiness Ainomugisha, the head of Kiswahili language Club at Mabaale SS says that Kiswahili language will promote trade in the East African community states.
She has urged students to avoid a negative attitude on the Kiswahili language, encouraging them that it is simple to learn and understand.
Students have confided in our reporter that the seminar would help them to exchange ideas and skills on learning the Kiswahili language.
