S.1 student Kidnapped, Found Dead In Nyamitanga

Police in Mbarara are investigating circumstances that led to the kidnap and murder of a 15 year old senior one student Shafiq Kalule.

According to Rwizi region police Mouthpiece ASP Samson Kasasira, On the 28th February 2021 at about 1540/c  a case of kidnap  was reported at Nyamitanga  police station  by Haawa Nakyeyune female adult 38yrs a peasant of Nyamitanga cell Nyamitanga Division, Mbarara city.

Kasasira narrated that on 28th Feb.2021 an alleged kidnapper called the mother of the boy Nakyeyune on phone number 0701725129 while she was in her garden and asked her if all her children were around prompting her to leave for home, only to find his son Kalule Shaffik a senior one student missing.

Kasasira told Nettl media that shortly the same kidnapper who was later identified as Stuart Kwesiga a resident of Kitoobero cell, Nyamitanga Division, Mbarara city called the sister of the deceased on the same sim cards demanding for a ransom of two million shillings.

However, the body of the deceased was today 4th /3/2021 found in Nyamitanga cell, already decomposing.

Kasasira revealed that so far four suspects whose sim cards the suspect used after approaching them and requesting to assist him make phone calls have been arrested to help police in investigations.

Police visited the scene of crime and sketch plan was taken after which the body was moved to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

The prime suspect Stuart Kwesiga is reported to have escaped and crossed to Tanzania.
