Residents along Hoima- Kaiso-Tonya road who were not compensated by the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) are decrying the long awaited compensation since 2017.

This was unveiled on Saturday in a meeting organized by affected residents and the Hoima city Woman legislature.

David Kabagambe a resident in Kyakatayomba village Bujumbura west says since he was left out he has been engaging UNRA for his payments but all in vain hence requesting leaders to intervene.

Topister Birungi also the affected says her land was used by UNRA and her house destroyed. Her current house is always affected by water since it is on the slope of the road.

Baligonzaki Saulo Yosia, a resident in Bukerenge LC1 village says his trees were destroyed but he was not compensated.

Benon Sentalo, another affected resident, says his plot was destroyed by the trench therefore requesting compensation.

Meanwhile Nyakato Asinansi the woman Member of Parliament Hoima City says as leaders they are going to intervene adding that she is going to visit the office of the minister of Works and create a way forward on how the issues will be solved.

The 92km Hoima- Kaiso-Tonya road was completed in2014, as part of several infrastructural development projects undertaken in the Albertine Region in preparation for oil production.
