Religious leaders and Christians in Hoima City have expressed happiness as they personally attended church that had been closed for 60 days as a bid to fight the spread of covid-19.

While addressing the nation on Wednesday 22 September 2021 the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni allowed churches to operate with a maximum of 200 people only.

While preaching the gospel at St Peter’s cathedral in Hoima City the Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese Rt. Rev. Samuel Kakuma says Covid-19 pandemic has affected people mostly in their economy as most of them lost their jobs.

He adds that he is happy for the re-opening of the church adding that people should come back to Christ.

Amon Zondera the leader of laity at our Lady of Lourdes Bujumbura Cathedral says they have fully participated in the mass physically following the standard operating procedures and requests Christians to comply positively with the Covid-19 vaccination.

Meanwhile David King the Pastor at Christ the way church articulates that he feels very happy and appreciates the president for  considering opening the church adding that the devil has been defeated.

In different churches traversed by our news reporters it was discovered that Christians were observing the standard operating procedures.
