PDM SACCO Chairperson Arrested for Charging Beneficiaries in Kakumiro

Police in Kakumiro district are holding the chairperson of Kyabaritwa Parish Development SACCO for allegedly extorting money from beneficiaries amounting to shs 120,000 to be included in the program.

The victim has been identified as Vincent Namara, 47 and a resident of Kyamajala village Kyabaritwa ward Kisiita Town Council Kakumiro district.

One of the beneficiaries whose name was withheld for security purposes revealed to the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja how the chairperson forced him to pay shs 120,000 in order to get shs.1,000,000 under PDM.

The arrest of Namara comes from the directive of the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja after getting the complaint on Sunday 14th  January 2024 while at the Fundraising function at Christ the King Kisiita proposed parish in Kisiita town council Kakumiro district.

Nabbanja ordered the OC Kisiita police post Peter Kayemba to arrest Namara and commence investigations into the matter.
