KIKUUBE

Kikuube District leaders have called for maximum participation in the parish development model program that is meant to eradicate poverty.

Following the PDM training in Kikuube District led by Fred Byamukama the State Minister for works and transport, it was discovered that most local leaders have not empowered their people with Knowledge on the Parish Development Model.

Francis Kazini, the Buhaguzi Member of Parliament says there has been an information gap among the technical Staff and political leaders which had resulted in collecting money from SACCO’s in order for them to register.

Amlan Tumusiime the Resident District Commissioner says that he will continue fighting the vice of collecting money by the parish chiefs for the success of the Parish development model in Kikuube District.

Meanwhile Peter Banura, the Chairperson LCV calls for government intervention to provide a special grant to the fishing community at the landing site since it is hard for individuals to invest in agriculture.   

Parish development model is an initiative by the government that is targeting households to improve their income.
