NRA war historical laid to rest, Minister Byamukama applauds President Museveni

Mzee Karoli Kamanyire Abwooli, the father to the State Minister for works and transport Hon Fred Byamukama has been laid to rest in his ancestral home Kikwaya sub county Kakumiro district.

The late Kamanyire succumbed to diabetes and pressure on Saturday morning at Mulago hospital in Kampala where he was admitted for some days.

The deceased was a veteran who joined the liberation struggle under National Resistance Amy in 1981. He later joined politics and by the time of his death, he has been a Kakumiro district councilor representing elderly.

Speaking to the Mourners at the burial Ceremony conducted scientifically due to Covid-19 restrictions, the chief Mourner Fred Byamukama who doubles as Bugangaizi West legislator thanked President Museveni and the residents of Kikwaya Sub County for always standing with late Kamanyire in all situations and loving him unconditionally.

The Buyaga East legislator Musana Eric Acaali who represented all the law makers that did not attend the burial due to Covid-19, described the late Kamanyire as a fruitful political leader and has been a pillar of  development in Bunyoro as a sub region.

Meanwhile, the Kakumiro district Chairperson LCV Ssentayi Ssenkusu Joseph has also described the late Kamanyire as a man who loved peace and has been striving all the time to unite people. He adds that the late Kamayire also contributed much towards splitting Kibaale district into three for better service delivery.

The ceremony was attended by a section of MPs, local council leaders of greater Kibaale and the family members.

The deceased has died at an age of 83, survived with 10 wives, 54children and 394 grand and great grandchildren.
