The Prime Minister of Uganda Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah has endorsed the Uganda, European Union Forest Partnership roadmap.

The signing ceremony that took place at the Office of the Prime Minister in Kampala on Thursday Morning was witnessed by the Deputy Head of the EU to Uganda Mr. Guillaume Chartrain, Water and Environment Minister Beatrice Anywar, Raphael Magyezi, Minister for Local government, State Minister for Agriculture Bwino Fred Kyakulaga, and a cross section of technocrats.

The 160 billion shillings EU funded implementation plan is a follow-up on the FP which was signed at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 27) in Egypt last year.

The Premier described the Project as timely in the wake of Uganda’s renewed efforts to restore forests.

The overall objective of the EU Forest Partnership with Uganda is to enhance the sustainable contribution of Uganda’s forest resources to national inclusive economic growth and also address climate change and loss of biodiversity.
