More illegal guns continue to manifest in Kakumiro, Two nursing gun wounds

Two people have been critically injured as armed robbers opened fire in Kisiita Town council Kakumiro District in an attempt to steal money from cent mobile agent. The disaster occurred at 1930hrs in Kisiita Town – Kakumiro District.

The injured have been only identified as Ruth the Centre Mobile banking agent whom the assassins targeted while at her work place in Kisiita Town Council.

The second victim identified as Benson Waxidee a local music Artist was shot in the stomach during the scuffle.  He was rushed to Hoima Regional Hospital where he is receiving treatment while Ruth is nursing wounds at Kisiita health Centre.

Eye witnesses say that the armed robbers shot 6 bullets before taking off with unspecified sum of money 

There was stampede of people who were running for the dear lives as armed robbers turned violent with in the town.

Residents lament that they are upset because of the rampant illegal guns that are within the area. They have asked security of Kakumiro District to look into the problem before the situation is out of hand.  

Meanwhile, neither Journalists nor residents could independently ascertain whether some money was stolen because by press time, the situation was still tense.

Kisiita Police couldn’t give a comment as investigation into the matter was under way.

The incident happens barely one day after armed assassins shot dead a woman identified as Rosemary Namakula in Mpasaana Town council – Kakumiro District.

In October 2020 armed men robbed Shs16 million from a businesswoman in Kuhuna Trading Centre in Kakumiro District.

On April 7, 2019, two people attacked Mr. Moses Mugisha, a mobile money operator at Mpongo Trading Centre, Kakumiro District and robbed him of Shs1.3 million. 

The attackers also shot and injured two people who were part of the group that was trying to pursue them.
