A mobile agent in Kyaterekera town has been shot by robbers stealing money worth Uganda shillings 200,000.
The victim is identified as Halfin Bahungera 25, a resident of Kabadede Village, in Kyaterekera Sub county Kagadi District.
During an interview with Radio West at the sickbed at Dr. Kakibogo’s clinic Bahungera says it was around 8:30pm last evening when he was attacked by two men one holding a gun as he was returning home.
He adds, after shooting him they made a check and robbed Ugsh.200.000 which he had in cash and his mobile phone.
According to Moses Mugume the Chairperson LC1 Kabadede village says last evening his secretary was shot, breaking his left leg.
He requests security agencies in Kagadi District to put more effort in curfew adding that law breakers are using night time to make crimes.
John Kanyeregwe, one of the leaders in Kyaterekera Town council, says after the incident they contacted the UPDF army in the barracks and they searched some of the houses in Town in the hunt for the gun.
Robbers using guns majorly targeting mobile money agents are on raise in Kagadi District.
