Missing Mitooma minor found dead without private parts

The police in Mitooma district are hunting for the assailant (s) who murdered a one year and 8 months old baby, chopped off his legs and private parts.

The deceased is Owamani Iden, a minor whose disappearance case had been reported to Police by Byamaka Amos 55, a resident of Nyandago B cell, Bwera parish, Kanyabwanga Sub County in Mitooma district on 27th April 2023.

The minor (now deceased) disappeared from their home Kigyende 1B village, Kanyabwanga sub – county in Mitooma district on 26th April 2023 at around 6:30pm when the mother had gone to look for what to prepare for supper and left the kids with the father.

The father Maguru Justus also left the deceased with the elder sister and went to check on the nearby garden but upon return, the baby was missing.

It was on Tuesday 2nd May 2023 when the baby’s body was found by the father dumped in the bush at Kigyende with all the limbs and private parts all removed.

The Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson SP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident stressing that the case file CRB 2071/2023 is at Mitooma CPS for further management.

SP Tumusiime added that the scene was visited by D/CID/OC Mitooma, Socco and a team of detectives but the services of canine could not help to trace the suspects as there has been heavy rainfall in the area.

SP Martial confided to the press that no suspect (s) have been identified or arrested but the intelligence team is on ground hunting for information that can lead to identifying and netting the suspect(s).
