Ministry of Health Codes Kabamba Health Centre and Elevates it to a Health Centre III

The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development has released Sh8.2 million under Primary Health Care fund to equip and buy medical supplies to improve health services in Kabamba Sub County, Kagadi District.

The fight for improving Health service delivery in Kabamba Sub-County has yielded following the elevation of Kabamba HCII to a HCIII.

Residents from Kabamba Sub-County have been trekking long distances to access health services in Isunga, Paacwa and Kakindo in Kakumiro district, and now this seems to become history following the coding of the Kabamba health center and its elevation to a HCIII status.

The development comes after the Buyaga East Member of Parliament Eric Musana Acaali’s letter dated 25th August 2021 and addressed to the Ministry of Health requesting for the coding of Kabamba Health Center and its elevation to a HCIII status.

In response to the letter, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health Dr. Diana Atwiine, in a 4th April 2023 letter and addressed to the Chief Administrative Officer Kagadi District Local Government, said she has established that the required basic health infrastructure for Health Center III that is a maternity ward was constructed where she based to submit the supplier number of Kabamba health center III to the ministry of Finance for accessing the PHC Grants.

Musana said the development has been achieved as a result of the teamwork and joint lobbying of leaders at all levels in Kagadi District.

The Pan African Parliament legislator has called for proper use of the PHC funds given to Kabamba Health Center III to fulfill its purpose.

He is optimistic that now the residents will get improved health services as the facility will be equipped with enough medicine, staff and other medical supplies.

Kabamba Health Center III was constructed by the Kagadi district local government in partnership with the community and the area Member of Parliament.
