The state minister for works and Transport Fred Byamukama has implored Christians of Kakindo Catholic Parish in Kakumiro district to desist from waiting for government funds instead work hard for their families if they are developing.
Minister Bymaukama who doubles as the Bugangaizi West MP made the remarks yesterday (Sunday) while presiding over the fundraising ceremony held at St Albert SS that was held at St. Albert school Kakindo in Kakindo Town Council.
Byamukama went ahead and implored Christians and other residents at large to use the available resources to fight poverty rather than waiting for PDM and other government funds.
Minister however, contributed shs10m and 100 bags of cement towards the re-innovation of Kakindo Catholic parish Church.
Lawrence Bazaara, the District Councilor for Kakindo Town Council, who represented chairperson LCV Kakumiro district Joseph Ssentayi, commended the government for the steps moved in developing the area including Kakindo health Centre IV and other road networks.
Hope Mary Nalongo, the chairperson for the building committee at the parish invited the friends from other religions to join them in building the temple of God.
Meanwhile, shs33m was collected toward the cause.
