Minister Byamukama Challenges Road Users to Observe Traffic Rules to Minimize Accidents

Road users have been advised to always observe traffic rules while using roads to minimize road accidents in the country

The call was made on Saturday by the State Minister for Transport and also Member of Parliament Bugangaizi West constituency Fred Byamukama  while addressing mourners at the sendoff of late Happy Patience in Kyakapere village in Kisiita sub-county Kakumiro district.

Happy Patience, 28 succumbed to accident injuries at Mulago National Referral Hospital over the weekend after getting involved in a motor accident on Thursday last week in Katanabirwa Kyankwanzi district along Hoima-Kampala High way.

Byamukama said many Ugandans have lost their lives in road accidents and many others are admitted in healthy centers across the country due to road accidents caused by reckless driving and failure to observe traffic rules.

Minister Byamukama has threatened that government will soon arrest and penalize drivers that do not have driving permits and drivers breaking traffic rules because they are contributing highly to road accidents in the country.

Minister contributed 500,000/= (five hundred thousand shillings) to the deceased’s family and pledged to look after the orphan.
