Kyakabadiima HCIII receives Medical Equipment worth 208 Million, leaders blissfully applaud government

After government declared an elevation program to all HCIIs to the level of HCIII, Kyakabadiima HCII has received medical equipment worth 208 million to help elevate it to the level of HCIII in order to have health services reach the local person.

While handing over the equipment to officials at the health facility, Ramuel Betonda the Kagadi district Secretary for Finance and planning on behalf of the district chairman Yosia Ndibwami said that they still have a challenge of poor roads whenever they do referral and asked all leaders to work together to deliver to the electorates.

We are now almost done with health services though we still have challenges with poor roads and lack of a seed secondary school. However, I have started on the lobbying for a seed school and of recent I met the commissioner over the same issue” Said Betonda

Ramuel said this while receiving the medical equipment at Kyakabadiima HCII in Kyakabadiima Sub County Kagadi district.

Oliver Namukisa Ngomiranze the female district councilor representing Kyakabadiima and Burora Sub Counties says that they have been having challenges with mothers giving life coupled with little medicines at the facility thus applauding government for remembering them and saving their lives.

Here in Kyakabadiima, we normally host many sick people from different sub counties and especially our mothers who have been facing challenges during delivery. Now that we have got a health Centre 3 status, health services will improve” said Ms Ngomiranze.

Residents also applaud government for responding to their long awaited prayers of improved health services in their area saying that challenges of long distances has been solved. 

Dr. James Olowo the Kagadi district Health officer says that government procuring a medical equipment worth 208 million is an initiative to elevate all health Centre twos to the level of health Centre threes in order to have improved health services to all Ugandans.

Dr. James asked all stakeholders to keep well the delivered equipment in order for it to benefit everyone.

Uganda shillings equivalent to 208, 488, 000 million from the Uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfer Program (UGAFIT) have been spent to procure medical equipment for this health facility.

Kyakabadiima HCII started way back in 1996 being established by the community and since then it has been advocating for elevation until to date when government decided to pay attention to their request.

Among the equipment procured are 5 medical fridges, 5 microscopes, 4 hospital beds, 10 mattresses and 2 examination beds, surgical equipment among others.

In the financial year 2019/2020, government using the same funding elevated Muhorro HCII and Kyabasara HCII to the level of HCIII while in the FY 2020/2021 Burora was also elevated.

Kyakabadiima HCII brings the number to four health centers that have been elevated in Kagadi district.

  1. The government should also think about the newly creatored subcounties to at least give them healthy HCii facilities to help those young and eged person’s who cannot make it to those far healthy facilities I am looking forward to seeing your response
