 A woman from Kagoma village, Chihe parish in Nyakinama Sub County has been fined 10 plastic chairs on allegations of practicing witchcraft. The suspect is Nyiramajangwe Ancilla.

Residents allege that Nyiramajangwe urinated at the gate of a one Gloria from the same area in what they termed as witchcraft adding that she is responsible for several misfortunes in the same village.

Kangoma village chairperson Babona Ezra says that on 16th December 2022 he summoned Nyiramajangwe Ancilla to appear before village court to answer the allegation levied against her, and she refused.

The Chairperson adds that residents had resolved to expel the suspect from the village but in a meeting held later in Kangoma village organized by the Kisoro District Police Laisons officer Arineitwe Boaz; residents anonymously resolved that Nyiramajangwe be fined 10 plastic chairs if she is to be allowed back in the community.

The suspect however, denied the allegations but asked for forgiveness as her husband, Semana Charles begged for forgiveness so that they can be allowed back in the village.

Kisoro liaison Police officer Arineitwe Boaz advised residents to desist from tempers if they are to live in peaceful communities.

Nyakinama Sub County LC3 Chairperson Kamuhanda Charles who was present during the sitting appealed to residents to avoid taking law into their hands instead asked them to use relevant authorities in solving their differences.
