Kiryandongo council passes motion against Buliisa attempts to break away from Bunyoro Kingdom

KIRYANDONGO
Kiryandongo district council on Wednesday passed a resolution supporting Bunyoro Kitara-Kingdom to remain in its current geographical boundaries without any district being allowed to break away to form another cultural institution.
Council was presided over by the district speaker Hon. Kiiza Godwin.
The council unanimously approved the motion that was presented by Hon. Ochaya Washington, the Karuma town council district Councilor.
Council unanimously rejected attempts by few leaders who want incite people of Buliisa to break away from Bunyoro Kitara-Kingdom.

BKK officials presented a paper justifying the need to preserve the identity and dignity of Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom.
The council members debated the motion and raised several proposals that are for the good of strengthening Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom and districts.
District councils of Kakumiro, Kibaale, Kagadi, Kikuube, Masindi, Hoima city and Kiryandongo have unanimously passed resolutions reiterating their allegiance to Kabumba.
All the councils have rejected attempts to divide Bunyoro.
