Kibaale MPs donate 10 Tons of Relief Food to residents

KIBAALE 

Kibaale Members of Parliament on Tuesday delivered 10 tons of maize flour to the District COVID-19 task force as food relief to Boda bodas and private teachers that have been badly affected by the lockdown across the district.

The donation was handed over to the chairperson of the taskforce and also RDC, Deborah Mbabazi by the MPs representatives at the district headquarters in Kibaale.

The area MPs including Finance Minister Matia Kasaija of Buyanja, Dr Emely Kugonza of Buyanja East and Noeline Basemera Kisembo the district woman MP combined efforts to purchase the food for the vulnerable.

Scolastika Kugonza handed over 3,334 kilograms of maize flour on behalf of Dr. Emely, Sundy Byabu handed over 3,333 kilograms on behalf of Matia Kasaija and Paul Mukurasi Mutagura handed over 3,333 kilograms on behalf of MP Noeline Basemera.

These representatives say that the MPs’ donation is a gesture of love and selfless passion to serve the people they lead and that the supplies will be distributed to extremely vulnerable families of private teachers and boda-boda riders affected by the lockdown.

Receiving the donation, Deborah Mbabazi the district taskforce chairperson hails the MPs for the willingness to serve their electorates and promised to distribute the relief food equally.

Habib Abubakar, the deputy Chief Administrative Officer says he will ensure that the food reaches the intended beneficiaries.

The function was graced by, Gerald Bategeka the vice chairperson Lc5 Kibaale, Caroline Kashaija Muyambi the deputy RDC, James Asiimwe the assistant DHO Kibaale and Fred Matovu the NRM Chairperson for Kibaale among others.
