Kakumiro starts 1.2 billion work of elevating two health centers.

KAKUMIRO

Kakumiro district local government has launched the works of upgrading two health Centre II facilities to health Centre three levels.

The launch was organized and presided over Daniel Kikoola the Resident District Commissioner Kakumiro at Kabuubwa health facility.

The facilities to be upgraded include Kabuubwa Health Center II in Kibijo sub county Bugangaizi East and Kigando Health Center II in Kijangi sub county Bugangaizi West.

Speaking during the launch, Robert Mukaabya the Kakumiro district engineer said the project was contracted by BANA ENTERPRISE LIMITED at a cost of over 1.2billion and funded by the central government.

He adds that each facility will cost over 640 million.

Robert Senteza the Acting District Health Officer Kakumiro says the upgraded facilities will come with new changes such as construction of Maternity wards and increasing the number of health staffs.

Joseph Sentayi the Kakumiro district LC V Chairperson warned the contractors against doing shoddy work.

He further tasked the contractors to consider local content during their works through employing the local people for them to benefit.

Speaking to Radio West, Daniel Kikoora the RDC Kakumiro called for cooperation and regular supervision of the works by all the stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the project.

David Baraaba the director BANA ENTERPRISE LIMITED promised to deliver good and quality work.

He says the project will be complete in a period of eight (8) months.
