The Kagadi town council authorities are looking for its tractor MASSEY FERGUSON Reg.no LG0027-19 that has been stolen by the yet to be identified persons.
The shocking theft incident was confirmed today (Friday) afternoon by Geoffrey Mugisa the principal town clerk Kagadi Town council while speaking to our reporter at his office in Kagadi Town Council.
According to Mugisa, the tractor was stolen from the town council’s former offices along Kagadi-Hoima road at around Mid-night by the persons who loaded it on a car carrier Reg. No. UBL 309R before driving off to an unknown destination.
Mugisa said he received the information from concerned residents who notified him about the persons who were loading the government tractor on a car carrier vehicle, adding that efforts put on to retrieve the vehicle were futile as it was already taken away.
The town clerk suspects that the tractor might have taken the Hoima route and is asking residents with any information regarding the theft to report to police for the suspects to be arrested.
Mugisa said the tractor was out of use because of depreciation in its value and the town council authorities had informed the district to sell it.
He however said there are some people who have been approaching the town council authorities seeking to buy the tractor and he suspects them to have stolen it.
Mugisa said he has informed police about the incident and investigations into the matter have begun.
