Kagadi Town Council Approves Work Plan, Budget Estimates for Fy2023/24, Works take the Highest share

The Kagadi town council sitting has last evening approved work plan and budget estimates for the FY2023-2024 worth Seven hundred fifty three million, seven hundred sixty five thousand, seven hundred forty three shillings (Ugx753,765,743) with works department taking the lion’s share.
The council session was presided over by the Town Council speaker Ernest Kyahurwa at Nuel guest house in Kagadi Town Council, Kagadi district.
The budget was presented by the Secretary for Finance, Planning and Administration Anatole Byabasaija who also doubles as the Male Councilor for people with disabilities.
The motion to approve the budget was adopted by other councilors.
According to the approved budget, works takes lion’s share with Sh238 million followed by finance Sh126 million, Health constitutes Sh120 million, statutory bodies take sh69 million, and other sectors trailed.
The Kagadi Town Council Chairman LCIII Geoffrey Businge disclosed that in the financial year 2022-2023 the town council registered many achievements adding that they are preparing to shift from rentals to their administration block with effect from 01st July, 2023.
He also asked councilors to publicize the right information about the Parish Development Modal program to the public.
Meanwhile councilors have disclosed that team work has helped them to perform their duties and asked the town council authorities to use the funds as allocated in the budget mostly in the works sector.
