Kagadi, Kibaale, Kakumiro Christians Celebrate Ecumenical Way of the Cross Asked Emulate Jesus’ Deeds

The Catholic and Anglican churches today held joint prayers during the ecumenical way of the cross in  Kagadi, Kakumiro and Kibaale districts  with a call to Christians to emulate Jesus’ good actions of love, charity, humility and hard work.

Monsignor Peter Kaberenge, and Monsignor John Mary Kitone Kabyanga the episcopal vicars Kagadi and Kibaale Vicariate urged Christians to remain steadfast in faith and leave a legacy with good track records to be emulated by the young generation.

In Kibaale, the way of the cross started at St. Kirigwaijjo SS via Karuguuza town to Bujuni Catholic Parish playground where the Monsignor JohnMary Kitone Kabyanga asked Christians to emulate Jesus’ resilience to inherit his kingdom.

The path of the cross in Kibaale was led by students of St. Kirigwaijjo SS and Rev. Fr. Prospero Tugume.

Msgr. Kabyanga said the way of the cross reminds Christians of how Jesus gave in his life only to save the world.

Meanwhile Rev, Fr. Jude Thaddeus Ahebwa of St. Peters, Bwikara Parish asked Christian to resurrect with Jesus Christ through spreading the message of peace, co-existence, unity, reconciliation and forgiveness. He urged Christians to desist from evil ways of living such as drunkenness, domestic violence, corruption, murder, witch craft, hatred which he says are conduits for Satan and his actions

Rev. Paddy Irumba, the archdeacon of All saints Kakumiro church of Uganda, asked Christians to pray for peace, unity as well as dedicating prayers to people encountered with famine, disasters, and wars.

 The joyful Christians said the suffering and death of Jesus Christ is a clear testimony that Christians should remain humble, repent and forgive one another in order to receive everlasting peace.
