Kakumiro and Kagadi District have registered an increase in Malaria following the previous heavy rains, which has worried health workers.
Dr. Aggrey Byaruhanga the epidemiologist Hoima regional referral hospital while Speaking to journalists at Kontik Hotel Hoima City says malaria in Kagadi and Kakumiro is on the rise according to the health data received.
Byaruhanga calls upon people in Bunyoro region to sleep under mosquito nets and also visit the healthy facilities in time in order to attend health services in time.
“We have realized that malaria is much common in Kagadi and Kakumiro and we ask Ugandans to embrace the use of mosquito nets that were distributed by government”, said Dr. Byaruhanga.
Yosia Ndibwaami, the LCV chairperson Kagadi district urges people in the District to close windows and doors during the night, clear stagnant water and also sleep under mosquito nets given out freely by the government in order to fight malaria.
“It is true that Kagadi is among the districts cited to be with high numbers of malaria cases in the Bunyoro Sub region. I implore people of Kagadi to use all the measures that can help us reduce the cases of malaria,” Ndibwami said.
