The Hoima Resident City Commissioner Samuel Kisembo Araali has underscored the need for the public to resume the observance of the COVID-19 standard operating procedures -SOPs.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Kisembo expressed concern that the public has relaxed on the observance of the SOPs adding that the laxity may result in the surge onto cases.
He reveals that since December 24 to 28, the district has registered 58 cases of COVID-19 with the positivity rate at 16%.
He noted that it is high time the public observes the SOPs such as wearing of Masks, social distancing and avoiding gatherings to mitigate the spread.
He also challenged the public to continue embracing the vaccination campaigns as one way of fighting the pandemic.
