Residents of Kasokero cell in Kyenzige town council, Kagadi district today blocked the burial of a 16 year old girl, Ahumuza Kitone after suspecting that she was killed by her father, Kitone Peter known as ‘Nkasetinga’

The protesting residents camped at the home of the suspect until police were deployed.

Whereas the suspect claimed that her daughter died mysteriously at night after returning from her divorced Mother in Ruteete Sub County, some neighbors insisted that police should carry out detailed investigations into the matter.

The police and the doctor later did a post-mortem but promised to give the report later, which angered residents.

The young brother of the deceased  told residents that he was surprised when  their father told him at night that her sister had died yet she was not sick  by the time they slept.

The deceased’s mother Tusingwire Jackline said her children were called by their father to help him in harvesting maize.

She was also surprised to hear the sad news about her daughter’s death that left Ruteete Sub County on Sunday.

The residents together with their chairperson LC1 Kasokero A Cell Kairu Matia Mugobe accuse Kitone for killing one of his wives in the past years.

They suspect that Kitone killed his daughter to conceal information about incest and other bad habits in his family.

The OC Operations at central police station, Aimai Simon Peter called for calm among residents saying police would handle their concerns.

The angry residents also completely rejected the burial of Ahumuza Kitone in their area, forcing police to take the body to Ruteete Sub County for the decent burial.

By press time, the suspect was being detained at Kyenzige police station, as residents vowed to evict him from their village.
