The Deputy Attorney General of Uganda who is also the area MP Kyaka South in Kyegegwa district Hon. Jackson Kafuuzi Karugaba has intervened in the land conflict between one Ruhuma Rugando who is claiming to be having a land tittle and residents of Kisiita Ward in Kakabala town council Kyaka Central constituency in Kyegegwa district.
The Deputy Attorney General’s intervention in the land conflict follows weeks ago after the District Woman MP Kyegegwa district Hon Flavia Kabahenda Rwabuhoro raised the matter on the floor of Parliament as a matter of National importance.
It will be remembered that early last month during an engagement meeting chaired by the RDC Kyegegwa Monica Karungi Kanyeihe with the affected persons from the four cells of Kisiita, Kinona, Kyenjoki and Kikurungo in Kakabala town council Kyaka central constituency, Rugando testified to be the rightful owner of 908 acres with a land tittle on Block Number 39 plot Number 02 adding that he got the land from his grandmother late Victoria Banura.
In a meeting held in Kisiita cell last evening joined by Members of Parliament led by Hon Jackson Kafuuzi and district leaders, one Frank Muhumuza from the same family of Ruhuma also claimed the same land with a land tittle vowing not to evict people.
Speaking during the meeting, the aggrieved locals are now seeking for government intervention so that they can stay on their land.
In His message, the Deputy Attorney General of Uganda who also doubles the MP Kyaka South in Kyegegwa district Hon Jackson Kafuuzi Karugaba assured locals of no eviction giving three months ultimatum to the conflicting family of Frank and Ruganda who are claiming to be having a land tittle to reach a consensus so that they can be recommended for compensation.
