Kagadi District Local Government Authority has Okayed the use of Muhorro Health Centre 3 facility Structure despite of its shoddy state, pending its official Commissioning

The development has been confirmed yesterday during a courtesy visit made by our reporters at the new structure of Muhorro Health Centre 3 in Muhorro Town council Kagadi district.

While at the facility, our reporters found the new healthy facility in operation with Healthy Workers busy attending to patients, however late last year during a probe conducted by Peter Ogwang Minister of State for Economic Monitoring (Office of the President) questioned the state of both Muhorro and Kyabasala Health Centre 3 facilities, stressing that they were in shoddy state and lacked value for tax payer’s money.

Also last year the state Minister for Public Service,  Mary Grace Mugasa during her visit at Muhorro town council headquarters, she condemned the state in which the new facility was in after vividly witnessing some cracks on the structure thus warning against its commissioning.

But in an exclusive interview our reporter, John Isingoma, the Town Clerk for Muhorro Town council said that they have so far spent one week using the new facility for lack of a safe and private place from where to handle patients.

He said that before entering into the new structure, the Muhorro town council leadership first engaged in two meetings with the district CAO and LC5 chairperson who permitted them to utilize the building.

When contacted over the matter, Ndibwami B Yosia the Kagadi District LC5 Chairperson confirmed to have allowed the Muhorro town council authority to use the new facility as the district leadership is working around the clock to pressurize the contractor to come and rectify the structural defects.

Lydia Nyangoma, an in- charge of Muhorro Health Centre III said that they forced to start using the new structure due to urgency and lack of a convenient place from where to handle patient cases.

Meanwhile, residents of Muhorro town council have revealed that though the new facility has been opened for public use it lacks medical supplies and medical stuff, thus calling upon government to come towards their rescue.

Muhorro and Kyabasala Health Centre 3s’ facility Structures were in April 2019 contracted by Trandit Limited at a tune of Shillings 947,548, 636 and the project was to be completed in three months period, though up to now the projects have never been officially commissioned.
