Christmas celebrations focus on peace building, love and saving

TheRt. Rev. Vincent Kirabo Bishop of Hoima Diocese has urged Christians to embrace humility this Christmas season, saying their pride, self-interest and the glitter of our armor was perverting their spiritual lives and corrupting the church’s mission.

Kirabo unveiled this during the Christmas mass at Hoima Catholic dioceses adding that God is mercy full to his people and he loves people to have unity in their daily activities.

He adds that Jesus came on earth to save people from sin and people should continue with activities that can boost their economy.

Meanwhile Francis Kazini, the Buhaguzi West Member of Parliament, requested people to enjoy Christmas peacefully and save money as children are going back to school.

In Kagadi

Believers in Christ have been advised to love one another, strengthen their faith in order to be successful in this world.

The call was made by Reverend Teeho Irumba the Archdeacon for Kagadi Archdeaconry while animating the service at St Luke’s Church of Uganda Kagadi while celebrating Christmas day.

Reverend Irumba urges believers to keep peace in their homes as required by the Lord God.

In Paacwa sub county Rev. Magambane Patrick who led the service at Nyakabale Church of Uganda parish in Naigana Archdeaconry argues Christians to champion for peace in their homes and communities at large.

Quoting from the gospel of Isaiah 9:6, Magambane says Jesus was born to bring peace in the world which Christians should maintain

Magambene says Jesus was born to be a bridge between Christians and God, asks them to accept Him as their savior in order to overcome earthly difficulties.  

In Bwikara catholic parish, Rev. Fr. Jude Aheebwa who animated mass at Katikengeyo sub parish has asked Christians to desist from domestic violence and celebrate Christmas in peace.

In Paacwa town council, Christians have been asked to continue observing SOPs as they celebrate to avoid the spread of coronavirus

Meanwhile, Christians who spoke to our reporters from different parts of the district and outside have thanked the Almighty God for having protected them through tough times of Covid-19 and enabling them to reach this important day celebrations.
