As Christians around the world end the 40 days of fasting in what is termed as palm Sunday, they have been warned to desist negative and anti-Christ behavior that demean human dignity and Jesus’ image on earth.
The summon has been raised by the Msgr Peter Kaberenge vicar general of St. Mary’s Kagadi catholic vicariate in Hoima catholic diocese during the mass of the Palm Sunday.
During his preaching, Msgr Kaberenge says that many people have decided to ungodly acts like hypocrisy, something he says is an example of Judas’ acts when he betrayed Jesus Christ and warned Christians against the vice.
Msgr. Kaberenge further says that it is today when Jesus made a triumphant entry into Jerusalem and this is a sign of victory to every Christian who belived and accepted Jesus as his or her savior.
Meanwhile, Christians also say that this day is starting a holy week that involves many activities including, Jesus washing disciples’ feet, the lord’s last supper, the ecumenical way of the cross, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday among others.
This Palm Sunday marks the beginning the holy week in the Christian faith that will see Christians repenting, forgiving and offering charity to others as they wait for the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The 40 day lent period started on 2nd of March this year and today marks its end.
