A Requiem Service for Prince Samuel Nyaika Gafabusa Amooti has been held today at St Peter’s Cathedral in Hoima City.
The deceased is a brother to His Royal Majesty Dr. Solomon Gafabusa Iguru 1, the Omukama of Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom and is one of the children of Omukama Sir. Tito Winyi Gafabusa 1V.
Hundreds of mourners joined the service to pay their respects to the deceased.
The Royal family, Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom officials, political leaders, various religious leaders, family & friends attended the service.
The service was led by The Very Rev. Can. Eric Twine who appreciated the Royal family for building their families with a religious foundation.
He appreciated God for the life of Prince Nyaika & advised mourners to pick lessons from Prince Nyaika whose entire life was dedicated towards serving the Lord.
After the service few speeches were made.
The Bunyoro Chief Prince Owek. Mugenyi Fred Ruchunya highlighted the biography of Prince Nyaika & described him as humble, hardworking and a person who loved his culture.
The family appreciated the Kingdom administration for the support it has extended to the family.
After service, the body of the deceased was transported to Kakindo-Kyamongi for the vigil. The burial ceremony will begin tomorrow (Thursday 11th Jan. 2024) at 11am with a service & speeches.
The burial ceremony will be held at Mparo Royal burial grounds at 3PM.
