Buganda Premier Requests Gov’t to allocate a bigger oil and gas share to Bunyoro

The Prime minister of Buganda Charles Peter Maiga has requested the government of Uganda to give Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom a bigger share in the Oil and Gas sector in order for the kingdom subjects to improve their economy.

Mayiga unveiled while leading a delegation of officers from Buganda Kingdom on a working visit to Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom at the Kingdom Headquarters.

Mayiga says oil revenues must be appropriately applied to key sectors like conserving the environment in Bunyoro.

He adds that Oil revenues must improve education and health, and industrialization if the country is to attain middle income status.  

Andrew Byakutaaga, the Prime minister of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom says they have achieved a lot in protecting the kingdom however facing challenges of land grabbing.

He has requested for collaboration with Buganda Kingdom in order to uplift the kingdom suspects.
