Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom’s plans to commemorate 28 years since the king Solomon Iguru I, enthroned on June 11, 1994 are in high gear.
Unlike the previous celebrations this year, the cultural rituals which are celebrated with Empango will not be held because the king is going through medication and treatment outside the country and within the country.
Empango, the coronation anniversary, is the first ritual the king performs during his enthronement.
However other celebrations such as royal prayers, thanks giving, Empango run bicycle competitions, exhibitions, concerts among others will be held to commemorate 28 years of the king’s reign.
This was unveiled by Andrew Byakutaaga the prime minister of Bunyoro Kitara kingdom at the kingdom headquarters while addressing the press.
Byakutaga says subjects will be kept informed by the office of the prime minister on the ongoing activities.
