The Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Prime Minister Owek. Andrew Byakutaga has held engagements with Muslim leaders in Kakumiro district.
Led by the Acting Kakumiro district Khadh Sheikh Rajab Kyeyune, the Muslims received the Prime Minister at Rwensera mosque.
The meeting discussed various concerns such as cultural preservation, improving household incomes, unity, protection of children, addressing historical injustices and upcoming development projects of the Kingdom.
Leaders in the newly created Kakumiro Muslim district appreciated the Prime Minister whom they said is the first top ranking official to visit them since the district was inaugurated last year.
They welcomed a proposal to support the Kingdom’s efforts to promote culture, education and the model household scheme.
The meeting was attended by members of the Kakumiro district Muslim district, some district leaders and members of Rwensera school management committee.
The Prime Minister also addressed pupils of Rwensera primary school and inspired them to complete their education cycle and grow up responsibly while contributing towards the development of their families and communities.
The meeting with leaders is one of the engagements which the Kingdom is holding with various stakeholders.
The Premier also visited the Omukama’s Bugangaizi west county Chief Mzee Erisa Njalebuza who is hospitalized.
