Bishop Vincent Kirabo Commissions Multi-Billion Church, Condemns Vandalism

Bishop Kirabo made the remarks on Sunday while officiating the commissioning of a multi-million church at St. Peter’s Bwikara Catholic Parish in Bwikara sub-county Kagadi district.

The Bishop of Hoima catholic Diocese Rt. Rev, Vincent Kirabo has asked Christians in Kagadi Vicariate to use the commissioned church to transmit the message transformation and promote government programs especially parish development Model.

Bishop Kirabo made the remarks on Sunday while officiating the commissioning of a multi-million church at St. Peter’s Bwikara Catholic Parish in Bwikara sub-county Kagadi district.

He condemned the rampant  acts of vandalism and theft of church property by wrong doers warning that culprits risked curses from God. He asked to use the church for praying and God work as opposed to committing crimes in it.

“I have consecrated this church for the purpose of using it for prayers and church activities as well as promoting government programs. Whoever tries to vandalize or steal any church property will get immediate curse. I do not want also illegal activities in the church which is a disgrace to God” Bishop Kirabo said

Rev. Fr. Jude Thaddeus Ahebwa, The Parish Priest ST. Peter’s Bwikara Catholic parish, thanked well-wishers for contributing to the church where he said the church cost sh800m. He named numerous church projects such as primary and secondary schools, health centers, Animal and crop husbandry, poultry , tree plantation from which the church as well as Christians get money. He further asked Christians to use the church for adoration.

Church leaders and Christians thanked Bishop Kirabo for blessing the church and asked for more support for a few church equipment still lacking in the church.

ST. Peters Bwikara catholic church started 1930, became a parish in 2005 under the pioneer priest Rev. Fr. Christopher Michael Mugisa Mujule and its permanent structure was completed in 2023 under the leadership Rev.Fr. Jude Ahebwa Thaddeus and has over 5,000 Christians.
