Residents of Mambugu cell Kagadi town council in Kagadi district have woke up in shock when they found one Bodaboda cyclist lying lifeless in a pool of blood near the Kagadi-Kampala road.
The deceased has been identified as Solomon Aremwaki alias Kigere 25 resident of Mangoma village in Mabaale Sub County Kagadi district and has been pursuing his Bodaboda business in Kagadi town.
The Unknown assailants are said to have approached him (Solomon) at the Bodaboda stage and asked him for a ride but later on the way they pulled out a machete and cut his throat and dumped the body nearby the road.
One nearby resident who claimed to speak to this website www.nettlconsult.com on condition of anonymity, says that she heard the alarm at around 8pm but she feared to come out of the house in fear of her life but later in the morning she followed up to see what the alarm was for and found the boy dead.
Bodaboda cyclists say that acts of brutalizing them and killings have increased and that assailants are always targeting old motorcycles since they do not have tracking devices in them.
They asked security operatives to do thorough investigations and end the increasing number of murders of Bodaboda cyclist in Kagadi.
Speaking to our reporter, Alice Kabasana the Aunt to the deceased says Alemwaki was killed by unknown assailants as he was transporting them to the Shengli camp at around 8:00 pm in Evening.
Kabasana says the dead body of the deceased was discovered by the people who were traveling to Mambugu using the forest route just a few Kilometers from Kagadi town.
Residents say that they have developed fear because the forest plantation along Mambugu road has become a Harbor for criminals citing that people have lost their animals like cattle, chicken among others hence calling upon security to intervene.
Meanwhile, Bibiana Byabajugu the Chairperson LC1 Mambugu Village says she has been reporting to the town council leaders to clear off the forest because it harbors wrong doors but all in vain.
In March this year, two other bodaboda cyclists were also strangled to death in Kigangaizi Kagadi Town Council and their bodies dumped in a swamp on Kagadi-Kyomunembe Road.
