3 Hacked, One Dies on Spot in Kagadi

Grief and shock has engulfed residents of Kiryanjagi Trading center this morning when unknown assailants hacked three family members including a 30 year old woman who succumbed to excessive bleeding and other two family members who sustained injuries and are currently admitted in critical conditions.

The deceased has been identified as Alice Bingi 30, a wife to Omuhereza Richard Naku, all residents of Kiryanjagi Trading center, Kabamba Sub County in Kagadi District.

Other two family members include Florence Kebisembo 17yrs and Kisembo Ahuura 18yrs the biological daughter of Omuhereza Naku all admitted to St. Ambrose Health center IV in Kagadi town.

During an interview at the sickbed at St. Ambrose HCIV, Ahuura says it was around 9:00pm last evening when they were attacked by two men dressed in black but they could not identify them.

Jamadah Magezi the District councilor Kabamba Sub County together with the residents have expressed fears due to the increasing murder cases in their area and condemned the act lamenting that they have been in good terms with the deceased requesting the security agencies to intervene.

According to residents this has been the fourth time the family of Omuhereza Naku is being attacked with the latest being one when gunmen blocked him as he was haeding towards his village home in the same area.

However, the motives of these continuous attacks remain unclear.

Meanwhile, the Buyaga East legislator Eric Musana Acaali urges residents to be security conscious if they are to solve the problem of insecurity that is on rise in Kagadi District.

Musana says that security agencies in the district seem to have failed to contain the situation thus calling for personal awareness and neighborhood watch.

Lillian Ruteraho the RDC Kagadi District has condemned the act and requests the public to work hand in hand with security in order to halt the problem of insecurity.

She however expressed fears that residents may conceal the information due to fear of police interrogations.
