26-Year-Old Man in Custody for Murdering Neighbor in Kibaale

In a distressing incident, Kibaale police have apprehended 26-year-old Fred Byaruhanga for the alleged murder of 51-year-old George Tibenderana, both residents of Kyabahinda-Kiyanja Kyebando Sub County Kibaale district.

The incident unfolded on December 30th last year following a quarrel between Byaruhanga and Eve Zahura, occupants of Nzelena.

According to Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region police spokesperson, the dispute prompted Margret Mukisa, the mother of the accused, to intervene.

In an attempt to seek assistance, Mukisa rushed to Tibenderana’s residence, escalating tensions further.

Hakiza explained that upon Tibenderana’s arrival, a heated confrontation ensued, leading to Byaruhanga becoming agitated.

In a tragic turn of events, Byaruhanga seized a hoe and repeatedly struck Tibenderana on the head.

The critically injured Tibenderana was rushed to True Vine Health Facility in Igayaza for treatment, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Fred Byaruhanga was swiftly apprehended and is currently in custody at Kyebando police post.

He is set to face charges of murder in connection to the tragic incident.

Hakiza emphasized the severity of the case, highlighting the need for a thorough investigation and appropriate legal action.
