2023 Empango Proceeds to Procure Theatre lights at Kikuube HCIV

Bunyoro Kitara kingdom to dedicate Empango marathon proceeds to Kikuube Health Center 1V.
Empango marathon is one of the pre activities to commemorate the King’s 29th coronation anniversary commonly known as Empango and will be held on 11th June 2023.
Omukama Iguru was enthroned the King of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom in 1994 after the National Resistance Movement [NRM] government restored the Kingdom which had been abolished by President, the Late Apollo Milton Obote in September 17, 1967.
Speaking to our reporter, the Bunyoro Kitara communications officer Francis Mugerwa said this year, various pre Empango activities will be carried out to commemorate the King’s 29th coronation anniversary like Omugo Health Camp at Bulisa Health Centre 1V, Kabalega motor rally which will run from 9th -11 June in Hoima town, Empango Marathon on 9th June and Business expo from 9th -18th June.
Mugerwa said during Empango marathon they expect to fundraise over 40million and will be used to purchase theater lights for Kikuube Health Center IV in Kikuube district.
Mugerwa said they are going to sell running kits at 20,000sh each as one way of raising the required amount of money.
He has asked all people from different corners to come out and support the pre-activities in order to have colorful function for the King’s 29th coronation anniversary
This year, Empongo will be different since Omukama Iguru will not perform cultural rituals because of his health condition.
