20 year old remanded over alleged defilement

KAGADI

The Kagadi grade one magistrate’s court has today remanded a 20 year old man to Mambugu prisons over defilement.

The accused is Christopher Byamukama a resident of Hakondo Village in Nyakarongo Sub-county, Kagadi district.

Court presided over by His worship Edward Kayuki heard that on 23rd October, 2023, Byamukama defiled a 17 year old girl resident of Hakondo village in Nyakarongo Sub-County.

In the dock, the accused was not allowed to take any plea because the court lacks jurisdiction to such capital offences which prompted the magistrate to remand him till 5/03/2024.

Meanwhile, the same court, has remanded a 36 year old man to Mambugu prisons after denying theft charges.

The suspect is Alex Kamukama a resident of Nyakarongo village in Nyakarongo Sub-county Kagadi district.

Court heard that on 8th March,2023 the suspect stole a fish table gaming machine worth 10.2M shillings property of Steven Katusiime alias Gaigai of the same area.

While in the dock,the suspect pleaded not guilty and was remanded to Mambugu prisons till 5th  March,2024,when he will reappear in court for further mention of his case.
