Residents of two villages of Kasoga and kabuga in Kabuga Parish Muhorro Sub county Kagadi district have been left shattered after a short while rainstorm left their homesteads destroyed.
Among other things destroyed are over 24 houses, Kabuga Parish COU, domestic animals, electricity wires, Victorious Primary school while other people sustained serious injuries during the run for safety struggles.
Odira Byonanebye, former district female councilor Muhorro Sub County, says the rain that took a short time of 2 and a half minutes destroyed everything in two villages and called for support to the most affected people in the sub county.
The injured are currently nursing wounds in several local clinics in Kabuga trading Centre, Muhorro Sub County.
Residents who are affected say that they were in their houses by the time the heavy hailstorm rocked on but due to fear they decided to go outside and witnessed how tragic wind was blowing off their house roofs.
Joyce Kanteriine, a single mother of 7 children says her house was put down completely leaving her and the children homeless with all the household utensils being destroyed.
Rev. Can. Teo Irumba, the archdeacon of Kagadi Archdeaconry reached at Kabuga Parish COU and asked christiansa not to lose hope but he however called for support from all the responsible bodies and wellwishers to come and rescue the affected communities.
Residents also ask government through the ministry of disaster preparedness to avail them with what to eat, accommodation materials among others.
Currently, those whose houses were blown off are seeking shelter in the neighborhoods that were spared.
